Cuban Regulations & International Vessels

- There is no tendering to shore on the main island of Cuba unless the vessel is at a marina or harbor
- Tendering to shore is allowed freely throughout the islands and islets in the four minor archipelagos
- Scuba diving from an international dive center requires diving with Cuban dive masters
- No spearfishing is allowed in Cuba
- No submersibles or drones are allowed in Cuba
- We can request permission for anything, and the authorities decide on a case-by-case basis.
U.S. GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS REGARDING U.S. VESSELS AND CUBA
- In 2019, the U.S. Government imposed restrictions on:
- US Manufactured
- US Owned
- US Flagged
- Any combination of the above, are restricted by the U.S. from cruising to Cuba
- OFAC allows for twelve categories under which Americans can legally visit Cuba without any government documentation or permission in advance on a yacht, as long as that yacht is not any of the above
- The longstanding twelve categories of authorized Cuba travel are intact and in place since 1997
